Not only is Rookery Pub Fine Dining (directly downstairs from your room) your most convenient restaurant option, but we truly believe you'll find both the food and ambiance to be the very best in the Cable area. The ever-changing menu features fresh fish and seafood, beef and bison steak, handmade pasta, vegetarian/vegan entrees, and other creative dishes incorporating fresh seasonal ingredients from local producers. Garmisch is a classic Northwoods lodge serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with views overlooking Lake Namakagon. For more casual dining the Bierstube Lounge offers sandwiches, salads, burgers, and other snack foods. Rivers Eatery features tasty stone oven pizzas, salads, beer, soda, and wine in a renovated historic building. The Ideal Market in the same building offers a great selection of fresh and dry goods, including high quality produce from local family farms. The Brick House Cafe offers a unique and delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu including espresso, patries, soups, salads, sandwiches and more. Lakewoods Resort serves steaks, seafood, and regional specialties in a dining room overlooking Lake Namakagon. Every Tuesday and Saturday is Prime Rib Night, and the Friday Fish Fry features Icelandic Cod deep fried with traditional corn fritters and maple syrup along with special prices on Walleye. The popular Sunday Buffet includes crab legs, roast beef, BBQ ribs, chicken, made to order omelets, hand tossed pastas, and bountiful desserts. For more casual pub style dining check out Pla-Mor Bar & Restaurant (715-794-2145) or The Loon Saloon (715-794-2265). Both establishments are located on County Hwy D along the east shore of Lake Namakagon. Pla-Mor is noted for Wednesday "Wing Dings," Friday fish fry, and Saturday prime rib. The Loon is especially popular for pizza and burgers.
Just 10 miles south of Cable in the tiny hamlet of Seeley, the Sawmill Saloon features great food, drink, ambiance and live music. Featured menu items include homemade pizzas, great burgers, River Pig chili dogs, homemade Indian tacos, Friday night broasted fish fry, and Saturday night grilled steak specials. The adjacent Mooselips Java Joint, a comfortable non-smoking espresso bar, hosts a very popular Martini Night every Friday from 4 to 9 PM. (715-634-5660)
