Discover the Northwoods Glacial History Tour, Upon Request
Nature Photography Workshop (various dates upon request)
“Photographing nature is an adventure that requires both physical and mental stamina and results in growth of the spirit. My intention is to communicate the voice of nature through my photography. The simplicity that allows one to hear his or her inner voice happens in nature, away from the chaos of everyday pressures, labels, expectations, deadlines. The grea fe8 test gift that I can give to others through my photography is that same gift that nature has given to me—to help inspire, delight, relax, and quiet so that others too might see themselves through nature.” - Kristen Westlake Discover the Northwoods Glacial History Tour (upon request) Get off the beaten tourist path and explore the unique natural and human history of northwest Wisconsin with Down To Earth Tours. Company owner and tour guide Dave Thorson spent 20 years as a forester and hydrologist with the U.S. Forest Service. An historical author, his family history in Bayfield County dates back to 1893. Dave will share his knowledge, humor, and enthusiasm with you on the tour and take you to places that few have the opportunity to see. "As the tour searches the off-the-beaten-path places, you will learn of the area's natural history - geologic, glacial, forests, lakes, rivers, and wildlife - all intertwined with the region's rich and intriguing history of its native people, fur traders, explorers, loggers, miners, and railroaders." says Thorson. "Visitors can drive the same routes we take on our tours, but they miss the stories, legends, and lore hidden away in the woods. There is history on every acre and it is our mission to bring that to our guests in an entertaining and informative fashion." This fun and educational all day adventure is only $139 per couple including a delicious picnic lunch. The average tour size is less than 12 people. Or create your own group with a minimum of four participants. Visit Down to Earth Tours for more information. |
